The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, had been on a trade mission to India as part of his continued drive  to create jobs, skills and growth in London. The Mayor was accompanied by his Deputy Mayor for Business, Rajesh Agrawal, and his jam-packed itinerary, covering three Indian cities, includes discussions on business and investment, regeneration opportunities, visas and opportunities to work together. One his first day he met with a Bollywood actor and the co-owner of Mumbai City football club,

Ranbir Kapoor at the Mumbai Soccer Challenge and announced something very special. Four budding young footballers from Mumbai are set to head to London to train with Queens Park Rangers. Co-Chairman  of QPR, Tony Fernandes, said: “QPR is a football club with the community at its heart. While most of our charitable efforts are focussed on our home in West London, we are delighted that the Mayor of London has come to visit one of our fantastic international projects.

I’m particularly delighted that next year we will host some Indian girls as well as boys at Loftus Road. Girls’ and women’s football is a big growth area for us, and we look forward to working with the Mayor and the GLA to promote it even further in London in the years ahead.”Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan said on his Twitter account: “Thank you to the Ambani family @karanjaran & @milinddeora for hosting a fantastic evening with business and creative industry leaders to mark my trip to Mumbai. #LondonIsOpen”
