12th Annual property event in London with leading developers showcasing prime properties across India

HDFC Ltd, India’s leading mortgage lender is hosting ‘India Homes Fair 2019’ – a property event exclusively for assisting NRIs and PIOs wanting to own a home, back home in India for the 12th consecutive year.  The exhibition offers excellent opportunity to showcase a wide range of latest projects catering to everyone’s budget by renowned and well-reputed developers in India

HDFC Ltd has enjoyed a strong presence in the United Kingdom for the last 14 years through its London branch.

Though there has been a lot of negativity with regards to the real estate sector in the past 12 to 15 months, it is also true that it has never been a better time for a home buyer in India than today.  Property prices in the last few years have seen a decent price and time correction and hence they are the most affordable in terms of incomes of individuals.  Moreover, the housing sector has received more attention from the government than any other sector and has provided a significant boost to all stakeholders. The government is doing its best to support the industry with PMAY subsidy for buyers, tax-free status for builders and very recently a special ?20,000 crore fund, 50% of which will be contributed by the Union Government, for last-mile funding for stalled projects which are non-NPA and non-NCLT.

Also, Budget 2019 has incentivized the people buying affordable houses by increasing fiscal incentives on a home loan. The budget has provided for an increase of up to ? 1.5 lakh deduction p.a. on the interest component of a home loan borrowed before March 31, 2020, provided the property value is under ? 45 lakh. With this, the total fiscal incentives on a home loan by way of interest deductions are ? 3.5 lakh pa. This additional fiscal benefit also will lead to an increase in the loan eligibility of the borrower.  Apart from this, there is already a tax benefit on repayment of Principal of up to ? 1.5 lakh.

With the property prices being stable over the past few years, increased transparency with the implementation of RERA, lower interest rates and host of tax benefits and subsidies under the PMAY for the first time home buyers have made house buyers look favorably at buying a house of their own. Also the government’s flagship scheme ‘Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY)’ is creating more demand for real estate in India.

Speaking on the association, Akash Puri, Director International, India Sotheby’s International Realty said: “India Sotheby’s International Realty is happy to be associated with HDFC and appreciate their efforts in creating this platform to provide housing solutions for NRIs and PIOs.
